About Daphne

Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Funny, Gentle, Loves

It's not easy to get photos of Daphne, our 3 year old 37 pound staffy mix. She doesn't seem to have any idea how to "find her angle". We tried to help after we found a website titled "How To Pose": Bring your ears forward! Lean from the waist! Don't face the camera straight on! Well, we did our best. Daphne knows her best angle is straight on, perma-grin as close to the camera as possible. We're sure we captured this delightful dog's essence; let's now find her a home.

Daphne was found stray with a terrible skin infection. The shelter was also worried about her back and joints (Daphne looks like about 5 different dogs sewn together). We cleared up her infection, and in typical Daphne style, she's growing the hair back white instead of black. We also took multiple x-rays of her when we spayed her. Sure, Daphne's not engineered well, but everything is where it's supposed to be and she doesn't have any pain or arthritis. She's just bow-legged on all four short legs and has a sway back. Somehow Daphne's able to hold up her big noggin, so that's all that matters.

Although we have not seen her with cats, Daphne has loved every person she's ever met (or seen or even thought about). She's excellent with other dogs and is even a fan of kids. Daphne is a bit mouthy when she plays, and it can hurt when she corncobs you, so sturdier kids would be best. Daphne can get bored and destructive when left alone, but does excellent in her crate or pen. A huge ham, Daphne would be a hit at any backyard BBQ or house party. She's quiet and so cuddly that you'll wonder if she's stuffed with marshmallows. Daphne is working hard on her potty training but has the occasional accident. She's awful sorry about that.

Daphne is heartworm negative, microchipped, and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.

We should all take photo advice from Daphne instead. Let the camera see what's up your nose. Who cares what your chin is doing. You keep being you Daphne; we're sure your home is out there.
