About Gladys

Personality: Friendly, Affectionate, Couch potato, Loves Kisses, Playful, Funny

Gladys, our 10 year old 32 pound English Bulldog, has a great personality. Will she be winning any beauty contests? Look, probably not. And that's not a dig, we adore her. But if you've seen her ever-present snot-rope, you would agree Gladys isn’t exactly cover-model material. Gladys is sadly a prime example of what happens when breeding goes wrong (don't get us started). And it absolutely isn't her fault and also she doesn't care at all. And if you don't care either about boogers and folds and snorts, then Gladys may be the dog you've been looking for.

Gladys was found stray with terrible eye, skin and respiratory infections. Despite this, she was as charming as she was sick, so the shelter reached out to us for help. We've treated Glady's infections (they are all cleared up now) and cleaned her teeth, but unfortunately one of Glady's eyes could not be saved. She is much happier without it and can still see all the birds to bark at.

We've compiled a list of the things Gladys likes: people, pettings, adventures, tug-of-war, wiggling, napping. Things she doesn't like: crates, cats, sharing her people with other dogs (seeing other dogs outside is fine), and long car trips. Gladys is potty trained and not destructive, and she can be trusted to be left alone. Gladys loves everyone and we think she'd be fine with kids over 10. She would be happiest as the only pet.

Gladys suffers from a lot of bulldog problems. She has KCS (dry eye) and needs eye ointment. Gladys has a short face and small windpipe, so like a lot of poorly bred bulldogs, she has a hard time breathing. Her adopter will need to make sure she stays cool. We suspect Gladys is hard of hearing so having a secure yard or always keeping her on leash is required. In return, Gladys will keep her new family laughing and promises to be the life of the party.

Gladys is heartworm negative, microchipped and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.

We wish we could give Gladys a better respiratory tract and easier skin. Although we can't do that, we're sure we can find her a forever family. Is it yours?
