Most of our Stumptown Strays get good reviews. Evie, our 21 pound 5 month old Pit Bull mix, is no exception. But very few Stumpies get rave reviews from Rooster, our most seasoned foster-dog sibling. He's seen dozens of dogs come and go. And sure, Rooster is the nicest, so he'll tolerate them all. But to actually LIKE one? Evie must be really very special (spoiler alert: SHE IS)!

Evie was found stray, which is hard to believe. She's so well behaved that someone at some point must have taken good care of her. We were asked to take Evie in because while she was at the shelter, Evie developed a condition called HOD. HOD causes bone pain in growing puppies - literal growing pains! Since we've had her, Evie has recovered beautifully. No more pain and she runs and plays like normal.

Evie loves everyone: dogs, cats, chickens, men, women, kids. She is outrageously good in her kennel, not destructive when out, and perfectly house trained already. Evie loves to play and will self entertain with toys. She is good on a leash, is practicing recall, and knows not to get on the couch (when her foster mom is looking, that is). Evie would thrive with another playful dog or with people who like to be active. She's a high energy puppy that loves an adventure but is happy to cuddle the afternoon away as well.

Evie is microchipped, vaccinated, spayed and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives. Adoption applicants will need to provide proof from their landlords (if applicable) that Pit Bulls are not excluded from their rental.
