Most of the time, we have to guess what mix our puppies are. In Zeus's case, thanks to the donation of a DNA test by his foster mom, we know what he is! Zeus, our 12 pound 8 week-old puppy is 53% bulldog, 22% American Staffordshire Terrier and 18% Pitbull (for you math-heads, there's a sprinkling of other dogs in there too). This explains the perfectly smooshy body rolls. And trust us, they are delightful.

Zeus's mom, Medusa (Zeus is a perfect carbon copy of her), was surrendered to our local shelter while heavily pregnant. She contracted pneumonia, so the shelter reached out to us for help. We got Medusa in to her foster home just in time to give birth to three healthy puppies. The other two have been adopted already, but it's time for Zeus to find his own home.

We are pretty biased, but Zeus is likely a genius. It helps that his foster mom is a super-star at training, but Zeus is already learning the clicker and how to sit for what he wants. His adopter should be committed to continuing his training and his socialization. Zeus is likely to be 70-80 pounds fully grown, with a lot of muscle under the rolls, so it's especially important for him to be polite. Zeus is very playful, funny, attentive, and sweet. He's happy to nuzzle into his person's neck and cuddle on the couch. (Warning: that may get more uncomfortable as he nears 80 pounds).

Zeus is current on his flea and heartworm preventatives and is up to date on his vaccines. All puppies need vaccines every 3 weeks until they are 16 weeks old. Zeus won't have immunity for dog parks and the like until the final vaccine, but we encourage puppy classes and socialization groups. Zeus has been dewormed and microchipped. His adoption fee includes his neuter when he is 6-9 months old.
